G is for Gilmore Girls

I think I get extra points for have two "g"s in this one. Well, right now I am watching the Gilmore Girls and it is soo good. I have been watching it probably for about 8 months now and I am almost finished with the whole series. We get it through Blockbuster online, and as soon as a DVD comes in the mail, I watch all four episodes straight that night usually. For a while at the beginning I used to let Nelson put some movies he wanted in the queue (not sure how to spell that word) but in the past months, he has graciously let the only movies we get in the mail be Gilmore Girls. He keeps the queue updated with whatever season and disc I am on. I am pretty sure it is because he has really gotten into it himself and he secretly can't wait for the next DVD to arrive in the mail. Anyway, I really love it but I have heard I might be disappointed come season seven. We will see, only time will tell!

F is for Flower and Flour!

When we moved to our house it was not spring yet so we didn't know what kind of flowers we would find come spring. Well, we have been very pleasantly surprised! There are some beautiful flowers in the corner of our yard and they are so pretty (except the weeds around in the rest of the yard).
I also really love to bake! So I do enjoy some flour. So F is for flower and flour!

E is for Ear!

It took me a really long time to think of something starting with "e" except my name (not sure what that says about me). But finally-it hit me, something I use everyday-my ears! So here it is!! Hopefully there is not too much earwax in there (another "e" word although a kinda narsty one-but here is a funny story about earwax-we called it "ookie" as kids! I don't if if that was a James and Emily thing or if other people have called it that too!!)!

D is for Dishwasher!

We didn't have a dishwasher (besides Nelson) until we moved to our house! It is really fantastic. I think I have done three washes in less than a week because I am just so excited about it. Three washes is quite a lot for just two people. But it is just so fun to see how clean it gets. I think I will need to be a little more careful about how often we run it but it has sure been fun. Who knew appliances were so great?!?!

C is for Concert!

This weekend, Nelson's family was in town (well part of his family- mom, dad and youngest sister). We had a such a great time! We went to breakfast on Saturday morning at our favorite breakfast spot-First Watch. Luckily they have WiFi because at 10 a.m. John Mayer concert tickets were going on sale. Nelson's dad really wanted to make sure they got tickets (he is very hip and cool like that) so we had to bring Nelson's computer to the restaurant and while we were waiting, Nelson was purchasing tickets for the concert. He got 8 so I guess that means we will have to go to Dallas to concert! Sounds good to me!

B is for buying a house!

A,B, Cs of our lives

I have seen a few other blogs that are going through the alphabet and posting pics of the A,B,Cs of their lives. So I am going to give it a try-
A is for Altima. Nelson and I both have Altimas. They look completely different as they are 6 years apart, but nonetheless, they are great friends and treat us very well.

Blood, Sweat, and Tears

Well, we did it! We moved to our new house! It was a little intense and I am still sore, but it was totally worth it. We had some blood on Saturday when I cut my hand and blead on the couches (but we ended up giving those away-I don't have any weird diseases and I mostly cleaned it up-it is a long story of why we had to give them away, basically, very long and emotional story short, they didn't fit in the basement and we had to do something with them right away because we only had the truck for a day so we just dropped them off at the Goodwill). The sweat was all weekend long, even though it was only about 45 degrees outside, we were sweating up a storm. And the tears came when we couldn't get the couches down into the basement. But other than that, things are good and we are in the unpacking phase now. I will post some pics when I feel like things have come together a little bit more!
oh yeah, my favorite part of the weekend-Nelson hit another car's outside rear view mirror with the U-Haul. We had to pull over, the guy pulled over, thankfully there was no damage and the guy was really nice but he did say "drive carefully" as we were leaving. We didn't have any more problems the rest of the time!

Valances!

Well, I made a valence! I just had enough energy for one, so hopefully the next one will be ok!! Here it is-it will go in the guest bedroom! Nelson is holding it like it will be hung (hopefully not crooked though)!!

HOMEOWNERS!!!

We are officially homeowners now! It is really exciting! I just can't believe it actually happened, and now we have a house!!!!!!!!!! We are going to go out to dinner tonight to celebrate and then get started on our work! Yeah!

Go Cards!

We went to our first Cardinal's game of the year tonight. It was fantastic and the Cards did really well. It was a little freezing so we left a few innings early because Nelson was wearing flip flops and his toes were so cold. And for some reason he did not like my suggestion of letting him borrow my socks to wear on his feet under his flips. I am not sure why he didn't like that idea :) We had some great baseball food (hot dog, pretzel, soda) and then ran out of money but that was ok, it was worth it! We got to watch the hat dance, see a home run but we didn't make it on the kiss cam. I really really want to. I am thinking about bringing a sign next time that says nothing about baseball but instead "Please put us on the Kiss Cam" that would be great! Well, it was a great night and great to not think about house things (although we did drive by later on and saw they did get the roof on today!!!)!
