Tripp's new tennies

One of my dad's running friends got Tripp his first pair of tennis shoes! They are a little big for now but he really wanted to try them on :)

Last night we spent the night at the Seven Gables Inn to continue our tradition of spending the night out somewhere to celebrate our anniversary. This year was a little different since we had the little Trippster with us. But it was great nonetheless. We got room service for dinner and just stayed in and watched TV all night long! It was great and some much needed resting and relaxing. There was a little closet where we put Tripp's pack n play (I just noticed this time that he is almost as long as the pack n play- I should have taken a picture but I didn't want to wake him up with the flash). It was a perfect night!

We had been trading the stroller with my mom on days that she watches Tripp. But after a few times of forgetting to get it from her or me forgetting to give it to her, we decided it was time for her to have her own stroller. I wanted to get something a little nicer than an umbrella stroller but that was still lightweight. Since he is pretty big, he does not really need to be in his pumpkin seat for walks, so I went to an awesome second hand store, Once Upon a Child, and found this great stroller! I think it will be perfect for him when he is at Nonny's house!

Tripp's "school" bag

Tripp is going to go to mom's day out two mornings a week and of course he needed a bag to go with him to carry important things (right now that would be his diapers and bottle and lovie). So upon the suggestion of Steph, I decided to order a Land's End tote for him. It came in the mail today and I really love it (and he does too)!

four years of marriage

Today Nelson and I celebrate our 4th anniversary! This past year has definitely had the most amount of changes in it for sure! Mostly the fact that Tripp is here! Tripp has brought a new dimension to our lives and he does make it a little more challenging to spend time together just the two of us. But it is also pretty amazing to see Nelson as a dad. I am pretty sure we did not have a clue what we were getting into when we got married (or when we had a kid for that matter), but it has been a pretty awesome four years. I love you Nelson!!

three months old

On Tuesday Tripp turned three months old! I can't believe he has been here for that long. It has flown by! He has gotten a lot more smiley, has lots of sounds that he makes, and is just an all around joy to be with.

a very special day

Yesterday Tripp was baptized. It was a very special day and both Nelson and I commented to each other at the end of the day that we felt an indescribable joy all day long. Joy at God's faithfulness to our families through many generations, joy that our son received the sign and seal of God's covenant with his people to save them, joy that our family and friends were there to celebrate with us, and joy that God has given us each other and our son.
