The Trippster

I feel like our first born is getting neglected these days, which has kinda been the story of his life since Lily has been born. But things are starting to balance themselves out now which has been good. So I thought I would give a report on this almost three year old:

This is his smile- pretty much always with his eyes closed. I tried to get him to open his eyes and got a pretty good pic.

Then I tried again and got this:

I guess with eyes closed is the best. At least it is the most genuine for sure.
We still have our daily struggles with behavior, obedience, whining, etc. But overall, things are definitely better than they were a couple of months ago. I know for a lot of kids, three is a lot harder than two (and that would be years of life, not number of children). So we will see what this year brings.
Tripp loves being goofy and now gets what it means when we are joking. So he likes to make jokes himself or as he says "oh I was just teasing you Mom." He loves Lily and my favorite is when he just calls her "Little Sister or Little Lily." Just so endearing. He definitely still struggles with times when he has to share the attention and wait. But we are definitely making progress.

Tripp has been growing like a weed lately! We just switched him out of his regular car seat to a booster (with 5 point harness still). He thinks it is pretty awesome because the cup holders are in a better spot and there are two secret compartments for toys. He has grown about 5 inches in the past year, and gained about 3 or 4 pounds. I am excited to go in a month to his check up so we can get the official report! Favorite things right now include anything fire truck, bob the builder, cars or toy story (although he is afraid to watch the movies), and thomas the train. We play with lots of "guys" all day long and he also loves to do puzzles and color. I just started noticing that he actually attempts to color in the lines these days. And he does a pretty good job at it. He drew a "T" the other day and was quite proud!!
I think that pretty much sums things up for him these days. We love you lots Tripp!!

The squinty-eyed smile is so cute!! Sorry things are still up & down - that seems to be the nature of life. But glad Tripp continues to enjoy Lily & that overall, you guys are finding joy each day. :)
