A Big Hole in our Yard

So they moved the port-o-porty from our yard but now they dug a big hole in it! So hopefully soon they will fill it back up and give us back some grass. Until then, here is our big hole!

A Tote Bag

Ok with that out of the way, I will explain.  I made my brother-in-law's girlfriend a tote bag for her birthday.  Well, her birthday was a while ago but I made one bag and it was not good so I had to start over.  So, after some crazy times at work, I finally had some time to make the bag again. It was lots of fun and I think it turned out pretty well.  Hopefully she will like it!  Here it is!

Friends Forever

Courtney and I have been friends since before we were born. How is that possible you might ask? Well, our moms were friends and then we were born about six months apart so of course we had to be friends. We never went to school together although we played each other a lot in sports- that was hard, especially in basketball when we had to guard each other. It is really hard to guard your best friend, but we made it through and are still friends now. We don't get to see each other as much as we would like (she is in med school at Mizzou and is just starting her third year) but maybe one day she can be my doctor! How awesome would that be!?! Well all of that to say that we got to hang out last night and had a great time. Thanks Courtney for being so great!

fourth of july cheesecake

After being inspired by Martha to make a fourth of July cheesecake, I decided to go for it. The bbq today was the perfect opportunity for me to make it. Here it is!

This morning we went to a parade and a bbq with some friends! It was great, here are some pictures to document the morning!

Cherry Pie!

Tonight I made a cherry pie! I do not love fruit in my dessert so I am considering this just a tasty evening snack. But I am sure Nelson will be very excited. Here it is!

They Moved the Port-o-Potty (but still dug up our front yard)

So, about the port-o-potty that was in our yard. Well, Nelson called the public works department, they said to call the county. So he called the county, they said to call the water company. So he called the water company-they connected him to customer service. So he told customer service how we were not happy that there was a port-o-potty in our yard and pipes in our garden. The lady said she would let the appropriate person know of our great dissatisfaction about the situation. We did not have high hopes that anything would happen. A few days later though, we came home from work and the port-o-potty was gone! It is now on the street on the opposite corner! We were very excited. The only bummer is that they had to dig a big trench in our yard and the back hoe (or whatever type of digging up things equipment it is) is right in front of our house. But at least the port-o-potty is gone!
