aunts are the best

My sister-in-law Steph has some great kids music that she had been promising to give to us since practically before Tripp was born. Now that Tripp is almost four months old and developmentally behind because he did not have any music to listen to, Steph finally got on the ball and made us some CDs (totally joking about being developmentally behind but not about Steph being a little behind in her CD making :) ). Tripp has been so sad that he has had to listen to the same kids CD for like a month now. I tell him it is not my fault but his aunts. However, she definitely redeemed herself in the package that she sent!! Not only did she send us some CDs, she sent some classic books that she had extra copies of and a beautiful hand made outfit for him, complete with a monogram. It is my new favorite outfit for him and I know he will look so handsome in it come this fall when it will be time to wear it. Thanks Aunt Steph for everything! Tripp listened to the music and read his books and is now caught up to where other 3 1/2 month olds should be :)

for the love of books

I really want to work on our "library" of kid books. My sister-in-law has pretty much the best library ever (it helps that she is a teacher). Maybe one day, we will have as many as her!! Today I helped us take a step in that direction. I was at TJ Maxx looking for something else and I happened to see that they had a big selection of books. In that selection were some Sandra Boynton books. Those happen to be some of my favorite books. I think I love them because they are so silly. So when I saw them, I could not resist and I picked up some up (in this situation "some" equals five). Now you know what we will be reading to Tripp tonight!

bath time!

tonight Tripp got a much needed bath (for some reason, I can never manage to give Tripp a bath on a regular basis. I think he last bath was five or six days ago-oops!!). he always looks so cute during his bath because he just stares up at me with this face i'm pretty sure says "what are you doing to me Mommy!?!" then afterwards, he is so cudly in his towel. so here he is!

weekend visitors

This weekend our friends the Mullers came for a clerk reunion for Derek. We had a great time catching up and Tripp and Lizzie got to meet each other for the first time!

Tripp's new tennies

One of my dad's running friends got Tripp his first pair of tennis shoes! They are a little big for now but he really wanted to try them on :)

a fun night

Last night we spent the night at the Seven Gables Inn to continue our tradition of spending the night out somewhere to celebrate our anniversary. This year was a little different since we had the little Trippster with us. But it was great nonetheless. We got room service for dinner and just stayed in and watched TV all night long! It was great and some much needed resting and relaxing. There was a little closet where we put Tripp's pack n play (I just noticed this time that he is almost as long as the pack n play- I should have taken a picture but I didn't want to wake him up with the flash). It was a perfect night!
